Every year my family and I go to the same Christmas tree farm in our town. You drive down country roads forever, passing many beautiful historic farms before you turn onto a tiny, rough dirt road which takes you deep into the back of the woods. Just when you think you'll never get there, the road opens up to a field in the middle of the forest where hundreds of Christmas trees are growing, all $35 each. The only sign of life is a man and his truck blasting Christmas music, waiting to see if anyone will turn up, and ready to offer a saw if needed. This year the trees were pretty small, but we were able to find one just right for our family room. Getting our tree back in the woods in the middle of nowhere is one of my favorite Christmas traditions!
