The Elms, Newport, Rhode Island

Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to see a few of the mansions in Newport, RI. It was the first time I had ever gone, even after having lived in New England for almost half my life, so the visit was well overdue! My mom and I toured the Breakers, The Marble House, and The Elms. All of them were absolutely amazing, but I fell in love with The Elms. I'm a sucker for a formal garden, and The Elms' just takes the cake! I felt as though I was in Europe at a great country estate, and I feel myself even more excited than ever now to travel across the pond and visit more great houses just like the ones here in Newport. It was a fantastic day, albeit steaming hot and windy, causing all manner of hair problems, but it was worth it! I can't wait to go back and explore more mansions another day.
