I recently took a trip back to California, my native state, and had the most wonderfully unexpected jaunt to the lavender fields at Highland Springs Resort in Cherry Valley. Once a resort with a dance hall, soda fountain, shuffleboard court, and all that retro jazz, it is now a working farm and wedding venue. My favorite spot was the gorgeous, blooming lavender fields, which abutted olive grove with its greyish-green leaves, making the perfect backdrop for an impromptu photo shoot. Such a lovely setting, it was definitely one of my favorite days of the trip!
