NYC Snapshots - Day 1

Recently my Mom and I had the wonderful opportunity at the invitation of a friend to stay in NYC for a couple nights. It was such a fun time. The first day we saw the Christmas sights at Rockefeller Center with the Christmas tree, ice skating rink, and the gorgeous St. Patrick's Cathedral across the street. It was completely packed wall-to-wall with people, and my mom and I had to hold hands in order to navigate the crowds and still stay together. It was a crazy, made worse by the holiday crowds, but we still enjoyed it.

Today I ate at one of my favorite places in New Hampshire! L.A. Burdick Chocolates has a delightful restaurant in Walpole, and I can never resist a bowl of their French onion soup, which smells divine and tastes heavenly! After a lunch of soup and pommes frites with my mom, we did a little chocolate shopping in the store before I sat down to a cup of their famous hot chocolate for dessert. It was the perfect afternoon!

It is very hard to describe Dartmouth in October. Everywhere there is a bustle, all the students back to studying while the leaves change color against the gorgeous campus buildings. You feel like a part of the magic of the school as you stroll down the busy pathways on the green, or retreat to the quiet of the libraries for a moment of peace and tranquility, surrounded by history. It really is one of my favorite places in all of New England!

Autumn in the White Mountains

Spent the day with family and a good friend from Virginia in the White Mountains of New Hampshire yesterday! We had a lovely dinner at the Mount Washington Hotel and enjoyed relaxing on the porch as we watched the colorful trees look even more brilliant in the sunset! A splendid time it was!
